Asparagus Best enjoyed from your local producers – ignore the all year round bank-breaking varieties and enjoy it at its best from our local soil. Its nutritional value decreases rapidly once picked, so it’s important to buy it fresh. Asparagus has an endless list of nutrients and is very low in calories – 4 calories [...]

RESTAURANT REVIEW: DANNY’S AT THE HARBOUR VIEW

Yum yum….   If you want to be sure of eating exceptional food, rather than just enjoying an exceptional location, then pick a restaurant that’s run by a chef.  Unlike sleek designer restaurants where the décor is everything, at a chef-run restaurant it all begins in the kitchen.  For a chef, running his own restaurant [...]

Valentine’s Day, a perfect chance for a romantic dinner with the object of your affection, your partner, your beloved, your chosen one, your Valentine.  What could be nicer?  A delightful evening awaits…or DOES it?!  You book a restaurant, it looks lovely, ambient even, but if you’re not very careful, you could end up, sitting in [...]

Do you know what the latest buzz word in the world of marketing is? Hand-picked. There’s something so gloriously elitist about getting the best of the bunch – every detail carefully crafted and selected just for you. It’s why we love bespoke, Sky Plus and MyWardrobe.com. It’s about attention to detail, and if you step [...]

If you thought Indian cooking was all a post-pub bajis and baltis, washed down with plenty of pints, then think again.  Global chef,  Vineet Bhatia is blazing a trail to establish Indian cuisine up there with the best in the world.  It’s paying off.  He was the first ever Indian chef awarded a Michelin star [...]

Restaurant Review – Saffrons

Spice it up We’ve been shortchanged by curry houses.  Decades of gloopy oversweetened westernized curries may have sent chicken tikka masala rocketing to the top of the ‘favourite British dish’ list, but it’s come at a price.  We’ve missed out on real Eastern cooking. Saffrons, the new restaurant at the Hotel de France aims to [...]

Kate’s boules tournament may have been rained off, but every cloud has a silver lining – or golden in this case – as she makes a fabulous family restaurant find on St Brelade’s Bay. Don’t you just love our great British summer?  Record-breaking temperatures one day, then it pours the next.  And sometimes – when [...]

Familiar with the Daft Punk Pyramid? Well I’m sorry Thomas and Guy-Manuel, but Etienne De Crecy has almost eclipsed your travelling stage with this epic installation. Those crazy french euro-house DJs, what will they think of next?

According to our publisher, we’ve ‘had a thing’ about this video this month. I’m not sure what he means by that, but what I do know is that Gallery accounts for probably one fifth of the seven million, two hundred and eighteen thousand, two hundred and twenty nine times the video has been viewed at the time of writing. That’s 1,443,645.8 times.  Yep, we’re so crazy that we watched it point eight of a time just to make the figures add up. Anyway, POWERTHIRST. It’s an energy drink for men.. MENERGY!

This month’s ‘Youtube video of the month’ was a close call between a Gallery favourite comedy classic involving a cleverly dubbed television advert and that epic new television advert featuring Brains from Thunderbirds dancing to Snap’s ‘Rhythm is a dancer’.  No contest really.
